Top businessmen from India: warmth, family and the will to build

Why successful Indian men often make attentive and deeply loyal husbands.

Indian businessmen usually either started from nothing or run a family company in its third generation. Hard work, discipline and the ability to negotiate are in their blood. At home this shows simply: he does not abandon what he started, and he does not run from difficulty.

Indian culture is very warm. Loud celebrations, wonderful food, guests, children — a woman in such a family rarely feels lonely. There are always people around, and always care.

Successful Indian men are usually well educated and speak English fluently. Many studied or worked in London, Dubai, Singapore or the United States. They are open to other cultures and respectful towards a foreign wife.

Marriage is taken seriously. Divorce is still seen as a last resort, so a man marries once and for the long run. Loyalty and providing for the family are values nobody even argues about.

What to know. Parents often live with their son or nearby — that is normal, not an exception. The food is spicy, the festivals are many, the pace is intense. An entrepreneur's day rarely ends at six.

Small downsides: strong family influence and, at times, a very busy schedule. The remedy is simple — agree in advance about your own home, personal space and time spent just as a couple.

In short: if you love warmth, humour, a big family and a man who builds — India will give you a very dependable husband.
